The ABA Arbitration Competition--a slightly less formal mock trial competition that allows the students to use technology to help present their cases--conducted its five regional rounds in late November. Twelve teams have advanced to the national finals, which will take place January 21-22 at the ABA Headquarters in Chicago.
I've listed the advancing teams according to region, with the regional champion listed first.
California:
Texas Tech University School of Law
Chapman University School of Law
Iowa:
Drake University Law School
Creighton University School of Law
University of Missouri School of Law
Kentucky:
Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University
Georgia State University College of Law
Pennsylvania:
University of Houston Law Center
Fordham University School of Law, Jesuit University of New York
Washington, D.C.:
Stetston University College of Law
American University Washington College of Law
Stetson University College of Law (second team)
A member of Chapman's advancing team also happens to be a columnist for the Orange County Register, and he wrote what I thought was an amusing article about facing off against my Texas Tech team.
